Selected application of the PPI products use in aerospace industry and their advantages.
 Aerospace industry makes an extensive use of soft copper adhesive tape with electrically conductive polyacrylate adhesive. The adhesive has been specially formulated to be thoroughly crosslinked and also low outgassing.
Glasscloth tape with silicone adhesive is part of insulation systems in aerospace industry, in particular insulation blankets for use in jet engine casings. High tack silicone adhesive bonds well to the powdery surface from glass fabric and it is able to withstand the high temperatures within the engine casing.
Used in connection with plasma spraying / HVOF is a wide range of glasscloth laminates and glasscloth-foil laminates, featuring a long durability and high resistance to temperature extremes and gritblasting processes associated with the plasma spraying. The tape exhibits good conformability to various types of surfaces.
Recommended for the use with applications requiring shrinking as well as separation are siliconised shrinkable films. When applied to an outer wrap in the manufacture of composites, give a glossy and uniform finish to the part, so that extra finishing/polishing may not be necessary.
Composites bonding may be achieved with the use of mounting tapes.
Used in connection with aircraft painting are a variety of masking tapes, the characteristic property of which is the excellent resistance to solvents and easy release without leaving any residual adhesive on the surface. Aluminium masking tapes are used for aircraft paint stripping and repair.
Polyester tape with silicone adhesive is suitable for joining moulds together. This tape features excellent adhesion to other materials.
