Electrical Machine Phase / Slot Insulation Tapes
Insulation tapes based on Nomex polyamide paper offer good temperature resistance, dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility, and flame retardancy. PPI self-adhesive tapes for electrical insulation encompass all insulation classes from Y to H in the working temperature range from -200°C to +400°C.
Heat-resistant thermoplastic adhesives possess good tack and adhesion but have limited resistance to solvents. Thermosetting adhesives cure when subjected to heat and in this way achieve excellent resistance to solvents, impregnating resins and cast resins. Heat-sealing adhesives, thermoplastic, as well as thermoset, can be initially activated by solvents or by heat and they all increase their level of adhesion with increases in pressure.
