Thermal Transfer Polyimide Labelstock

PPI Adhesive Products Ltd are pleased to present our high temperature, thermal transfer printable, labelstock range. Designed to be printed with high-performance resin-based ribbons, the labelstock is able to withstand temperatures up to 300°C and is resistant against many solvents and processing chemicals

Our removable Polyimide overlay tapes are also available to complement the labelstock range for overlay of high-temperature resistant labelstock and overlay for printed circuit board labels.

All products within the range are manufactured in either roll or bespoke die-cut format.

L-139A Based on a polyimide film coated with a specially formulated white printable layer. This product is suitable for PCB bottom side labelling conditions that are often too aggressive for polyester based products. Due to its polyimide base film, L-139A is heat resistant up to 300°C short term making it suitable for direct exposure to molten solder and many aqueous-based cleaning fluids.

RD-514B & RD-514C Based on polyimide film coated with a highly resistant printable coating that has been designed for printing with high-quality resin-based thermal transfer ribbons. Recommended for all labelstock applications in extreme or harsh environments because of their excellent resistance to many organic cleaning solvents and wash solutions, RD-514 products are typically used as labels for bottom side labelling of PCB during reflow solder processing. Suitable for similar applications to L-139A, but recommended for those with more aggressive cleaning solvents.

RD-514M Matt white coloured version of RD-514B where the customer is looking for a non-reflective printable surface.

RD-943 High gloss white thermal transfer polyimide labelstock, designed specifically for use with special high-performance resin-based printing ribbons.

RD-689B Anti-static version of the popular RD-514C high-temperature polyimide labelstock. Due to its special adhesive construction RD-689B prevents any static discharge during removal from its interliner or from sensitive components after use. Specifically designed for use in environments where the reduction of electrostatic discharge is critical for sensitive component protection. RD-689B can withstand temperatures up to 300°C short term making it suitable for direct exposure to molten solder.

OL-440 High-temperature protective overlay tape based on polyimide film coated with a permanent acrylic resin-based adhesive. This product can be used to protect printed information on labels for bottom side labelling of PCB during reflow solder processing. Suitable for use up to 300°C. OL-440 is supplied on a silicone paper interliner.
